ASH NSW and the Federal Australian Society of Hypnosis proudly invite you to the 40th Annual Congress of the Australian Society of Hypnosis in Sydney 21-24 September 2010. Our theme is Dynamic Hypnotics – Hypnosis by the Sea. The Congress will commence with the Cocktail Reception in the evening Tuesday 21 September, where we will present Dr Wendy-Louise Walker with a lifetime award for her wonderful contribution to Clinical Hypnosis in Australia. You will meet old friends and make new ones, in a beautiful setting with excellent canapés and refreshments, assisted by our Congress Musical Director. There will be three days of speeches, workshops and scientific presentations. The Gala Dinner is on the final night, where you are invited to celebrate with fine food, wine and dancing. The Novotel Brighton Beach will be transformed into a meeting place for like-minded people, joining together in a time of up-to-the minute learning, discussion, socialising, dancing and relaxation. A beautiful hotel set majestically on Sydney’s historical Botany Bay. We have been especially fortunate to bring together Professor David Patterson of the University of Washington School of Medicine, USA, Dr Allan Cyna of the Women's and Children's Hospital in Adelaide, and the University of Adelaide, South Australia and Professor Richard Bryant, Scientia Professor, University of New South Wales as our International and National Key Note speakers. They will lead us through an exciting program on pain control and recent findings in hospital and hypnosis research. This will ensure that our clinical hypnosis practitioners will be abreast of current thinking in our field. The scientific program promises to provide a hub for international and national students. It will be the first time that ASH will extend a warm welcome to our fellow health professionals to our Congress since the widening of our Membership in January this year. So whether you work in private practice, in a hospital or clinic, or if you a researcher in a University setting or are just interested in contemporary views on pain management and hypnosis research – you will benefit from attending this Hypnosis Congress.
