Qualifying for membership

After completing all course and supervision requirements the Associate member submits two supervised case studies.

There is a recommended word count for these and they usually follow a high standard of reporting. We encourage links to the hypnosis literature and certainly require a clear indication of the care and consideration provided by the associate member in his/her dealings with clients.

When these have been passed by two Markers, the Associate Member proceeds to a three hour written examination.

This examines three areas through short answer questions and one essay. There are compulsory questions and application questions. The essay covers important aspects of the eighteen month course.

Finally, there is a viva-voce examination, where the Associate member is led through a series of questions on clinical hypnosis elicited by the viva-voce process itself.

Whatever you mention about hypnosis can become a source of new questions
